Belize Group and Family Vacation Itinerary Ideas for 5-8 nights

Every itinerary below is based on a real group stay at Casa Al Mar, arranged by the house and kept here as a starting point. Read them to picture your own week, then pick the one closest to your group, and let us know. We’ll make it happen.

The Group Itinerary

The flexible week to start with: reef snorkeling, a Caye Caulker day, fishing and sandbars, and slow days at the house, all at your own pace.

The Family Vacation, with Kids 6 to 12

Belize made easy with children: snorkel lessons off the dock, a sandbar day in shallow water, hermit-crab races at dusk, and a sandbox for the youngest.

Reef and Maya

The reef week, plus one guided day inland to Lamanai, up the New River past crocodiles and howler monkeys to the ancient Maya city, all from one island base.

Reef and Rainforest

Two sides of Belize in one trip: four nights on the Caribbean at Casa Al Mar, then four nights in the Maya Forest at Chan Chich Lodge. No domestic flight.

Scuba Diving

A private dive week on the Belize Barrier Reef: two-tank reef dives, a day at Hol Chan, a night dive, and certification at the house, with a no-dive surface day before you fly, easy at the house or out on the boat.

Choosing Your Itinerary

How many nights do we need?

Casa Al Mar has a five-night minimum. Reef weeks usually run five to seven nights, and the reef-and-rainforest trip with Chan Chich Lodge is eight.

Can we mix the reef with the jungle or the Maya ruins?

Yes. The reef-and-Maya itinerary adds a guided Lamanai day from the island. The reef-and-rainforest itinerary adds four nights inland at Chan Chich Lodge.

Do we have to follow one of these itineraries?

No. Each one is a real week we arranged for past guests, kept here as a starting point. You set your own on the first evening with your host and chef, then shift it day to day around the weather and what your group wants to do.

Is the boat private to our group?

Yes. The private boat, captain, and licensed guide are part of the stay and belong to your group for the whole week.
