5 or 7 Nights, Endless Memories

5 Nights is just enough to get a healthy dose of Belize’s Reef and Casa Al Mar. Many extended to a week, but we’ll let you decide what fits your travel style and schedule.

5-7 Days · St. George's Caye, Belize

A 5 or 7 Day Belize Itinerary at Casa Al Mar for teens and adults

Casa Al Mar is a private, fully staffed island home on St. George’s Caye, reserved exclusively for one group of 8 to 14 guests. This five-night itinerary is our most popular choice for families with teens and groups of adults, combining plenty of adventure with time to simply enjoy island life. Your days can include reef snorkeling, Caye Caulker, fishing, crystal-clear sandbars, and relaxing at the house, with three chef-prepared meals served each day. Getting here is refreshingly easy too: from Belize International Airport, it’s approximately 25 minutes by ground transfer to the Belize City dock, followed by a 20-minute private boat ride to the caye, with no domestic flight required.

Your private boat, captain, and licensed guide are dedicated to your group throughout the stay, so the itinerary can be adjusted around what you enjoy most. The plan below is simply a starting point. On your first evening, you’ll sit down with your host and chef to personalize the week, then adjust things as you go. Love snorkeling? Do more of it. Want another afternoon at the sandbar? Stay awhile. It’s your vacation, and the week is designed to move at your pace.

Day 1: Arrival and Island Time

  • Arrive at Belize's International Airport (BZE), where your host greets you and coordinates the short transfer to Belize City. From there, board your private boat for the 20-minute ride to St. George's Caye.

  • After settling into your island home, enjoy welcome cocktails and a short briefing with your host to plan the final details of your week, then enjoy your first chef-prepared meal, a swim off the east dock or go kayaking to catch your first Caribbean sunset with a front row seat.

  • Arrival times may vary and our team will adjust meals and activities around that on your first day.l

Day 2: Snorkeling the Belize Barrier Reef

  • Enjoy a family style breakfast, curated just for you. Then, spend the morning on the Belize Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Most snorkel tours kick off around 9:00 am after everyone has finished breakfast. If you chose a later start time, that’s no problem either. The captain and licensed guide choose snorkel sites by the day's weather and visibility; several are just 15 to 20 minutes from the house by boat. Water, drinks, and snacks come along with you on on every outing. You just basically have to board the boat.

  • Return to the house for lunch, the afternoon stays open: you can chose from kayaking, a hammock, or a walk around the caye, which is small enough to cross end to end before dinner.

  • Dinner is served family-style in the main dining room. Guests let the chef know during the briefing if they enjoy early or late dinners.

Day 3: Fishing and Sandbar Experiences

  • Everyday remains at your group's pace but usually on the 2nd day, guests try their hands at drop fishing. Many fishing grounds are within 20 minutes of the island.

  • Then a sandbar afternoon: just minutes from Casa Al Mar are some of Belize’s most beautiful hidden sandbars. They are shallow patches of crystal-clear Caribbean water where you can swim, relax, and soak up the sun. Some are even visible from the house balcony, while others are only a short 5–10 minute boat ride away. Sandbar trips include snacks and a bartender comes on the boat, so no one has to leave the water.

  • If you have a lucky catch, the chef can cook it for lunch or dinner.

Day 4: Caye Caulker

  • One of the most popular snorkeling grounds are at the coral gardens in Caye Caulker. The boat ride is just about 35 minutes north of Casa Al Mar by boat. After snorkeling, a few moments a way is one of Belize most popular attractions: The nurse shark and ray encounter.

  • The boat will take you about 5-minutes away from the coral gardens where you can encounter nurse sharks and rays. You can view them from the boat or get in and swim with them, the waters are usually shallow enough that most adults can stand while they swim around. It is truly an unforgettable experience whether you get in the water or view them from boat. All ages enjoy this activity.

  • After your snorkel you can get off the boat and explore the island for a while, and even get some souvenir shopping in before the ride back to Casa Al Mar for sunset and dinner.

Day 5: A Slow Island Day

  • By day 5, some groups might be winding down and some have 2 more nights to go. Either way, day 5 is usually a slow day: guests spend their day swim from the dock, paddling around the caye, having a long lunch, time together, or a second run to the sandbar. It probably also means its a game night full of laughs when dinner is finished.

  • If you don’t want to slow down on your last day, we recommend a mainland tour to complete the full Belize experience. (see more below)

  • If it is indeed your last night, the front lawn is set for a farewell dinner under the stars, it’s one of the most memorable evenings of every trip.

Day 6: A Visit to the Mainland

  • Casa Al Mar is uniquely located so close to the mainland that day trips are very easy. The boat can take you into the city to enjoy a number of tours such as: Altun Ha or Lamanai Maya Ruins, cave tubing, ziplining, or the Belize Zoo. Mainland trips are not included in the rate, but the team will gladly arrange and coordinates them for you. Your tour will be private. Typically you leave the island around 7:30 or 8:00 am and can be back by 5:00 pm., just in time for happy hour and appetizers on the balcony.

Day 7: Departure

  • After a final breakfast overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the team coordinates your transfer back to Belize City and BZE for your journey home.

  • Standard check-out time is 10:00 am, but if guests need to depart earlier, it can easily be arranged. For those who have later flights can add-on a mainland Belize City tour before heading to the airport. Our team can coordinate all of this for you.

  • The transfer is similar to arrival, but in reverse. We take care of all of the logistics so you don’t have to.
