A Belize family reunion under one roof, for 8 to 14

One House, One Island, Endless Time Together

Casa Al Mar is an exclusive, six-bedroom house on the quiet island of St. George’s Caye. Just twenty minutes by private boat from Belize City, the property is reserved for only one family at a time, pairing total island seclusion with effortless logistics.

It is a place where a large family can spread out, get on the water, and dine together without lifting a finger. With an expert local crew of eight living on-site to provide 24/7 hospitality, we take care of managing the daily schedule, coordinating transportation, keeping the house immaculate, and cooking every meal. For a group of eight, this essentially offers a highly attentive one-to-one staff ratio, ensuring your family feels completely looked after. You can focus entirely on what brought you here: soaking up uninterrupted quality time, sharing belly laughs across the dinner table, and building bonds that last a lifetime.

Six bedrooms, three floors, & the Caribbean Sea on both sides

St. George’s Caye is a residential island—a small community of waterfront family homes rather than commercial resorts. Casa Al Mar is designed so all 8 to 14 of you can stay together without spending the week on top of one another.

The six bedrooms are spread across three floors, giving different households and generations their own space. Some rooms are closer to the main living and dining areas, while others offer more privacy and stronger Caribbean breezes.

Before your family books flights, we help map out the rooming based on mobility, children, household groupings, and who needs to be closest to the main gathering areas. The kids have a sand pit to play in, the family has exclusive use of the home’s two docks, and by sunset, everyone naturally gathers on the second-floor balcony.

A successful family reunion does not require 14 people to want the same thing at the same time. Some can relax in the hammocks, some can swim right off the dock, and others can head out on the boat before everyone meets again for dinner.

Unlimited ocean freedom at the Barrier Reef

This is not a trip where your family waits on a hotel excursion schedule or tries to reserve enough spaces on a group tour. The boat, captain, and licensed guide belong exclusively to your group.

What truly sets Casa Al Mar apart is your proximity to the world’s second-largest barrier reef. Sitting practically on your doorstep, the reef provides your family with instant access to world-class marine experiences. Because it is so close, your time on the water is entirely fluid, allowing you to go out as often as your family's energy allow.

  • Go out as often as you like: Half the family might slip away for an early-morning reef snorkel or drop fishing while everyone else has a slow breakfast.

  • Tailored itineraries: The group can meet back at the house for lunch, swap places, or decide to spend the afternoon together discovering secret sandbars known only to local boatmen.

  • Island-hopping: Cruise over to Caye Caulker to swim with friendly stingrays and nurse sharks, walk the island, or simply ride the waves until someone finds a perfect spot to swim.

The experience is shaped entirely around what your family feels like doing today—not around a fixed itinerary.

Fully staffed luxury with 24/7 service

The real luxury of a family reunion here is the absolute freedom from chores. No one has to plan menus, shop for groceries, clean up, or debate where the group should eat. An expert local crew of eight lives on-site to anticipate your family's needs around the clock.

  • Your private chef: Prepares three custom, family-style meals a day, along with snacks. Adults can enjoy fresh local Maya, Creole, Caribbean, and seafood dishes, while toddlers and teenagers can have familiar, substantial options on a flexible schedule.

  • Your captain and guide: Ready at the dock whenever your family decides to hit the water.

  • Daily housekeeping: Keeps all three floors and the property immaculate while you relax.

Vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free needs can easily be incorporated into the menu so no one receives a lesser version of a meal. Strict medical allergies are discussed and confirmed in advance because of the island location. There is no fixed restaurant menu; instead, the chef learns what your family enjoys ahead of time and plans the week accordingly.

  • “The house was incredible, but it was the crew that made our trip unforgettable. Having our own boat and captain meant we could fish and snorkel whenever we wanted—we actually took the boat out three different times in one day! Chef Estevan surprised us with spectacular local dishes every night, and the staff made us feel completely looked after.”

The logistics that make the trip effortless

Once the family is excited about the house and the water, the mechanics of getting everyone there still have to work. We handle the friction points so the person who planned the reunion gets to actually enjoy it.

  • No domestic flights: Skip the small commuter planes and tight luggage limits. Your family lands at Belize International Airport (BZE), takes a 25-minute private vehicle transfer to the dock, and a scenic 20-minute private boat ride straight to St. George’s Caye.

  • Rooming settled early: Every household knows its space before arriving, planned around stairs, children, grandparents, and privacy needs.

  • The baby gear is waiting: A crib, high chair, baby bath, and a bin of sand toys are set up before you walk through the door.

  • Personalized trip planning: Your team coordinates arrivals, dietary requirements, and the general rhythm of the week to remove the logistical heavy lifting.

Transparent information for a group booking

Your family decides how the cost is handled—whether the stay is divided between households or covered by one person.

  • Holding your dates: We can temporarily hold selected dates for 72 hours while the family confirms availability.

  • One clear booking: The property is reserved as one whole-house buyout.

  • Deposit and balance: A 50% deposit confirms the stay. The full balance is required 30 days ahead of your arrival. Bookings made less than 30 days ahead of arrival require full payment.

  • Cancellation terms: Provided clearly before any payment is made.

  • Gratuity: Not added automatically. A guideline of approximately 10% of the pretax stay is customary for the eight-person crew, and US cash is accepted.

Is Casa Al Mar the right fit for your family?

Casa Al Mar works best for families who want a private home where meals, transportation, housekeeping, and daily activities are managed for them. To ensure a perfect match, keep these details in mind:

  • Off-grid Caribbean living: The house relies on the natural ocean breeze flowing through open windows, supported by ceiling fans and an off-grid solar system. Families requiring continuous central air conditioning should choose a different property.

  • The ocean is your pool: There is no swimming pool; the clear sea right off your private docks is your swimming hole. Parents remain responsible for supervising children around the water.

  • A shared island neighborhood: St. George’s Caye is a historic, residential island. The home, crew, and docks belong strictly to your group, but the caye itself is a quiet neighborhood shared with a few other family residences.
