Older guests, small kids, and mobility.

Traveling with Older Guests

For groups traveling with older family members, the journey to Casa Al Mar is easier than many regional and local travel connections. The transfer from the airport is straightforward, with a short van ride followed by a quick boat transfer with shaded seating. If anyone in your group has limited mobility or specific medical considerations, please let us know in advance to ensure they can be accommodated.

Traveling with Toddlers & Children

Casa Al Mar welcomes families with young children, and items such as cribs, high chairs, and toddler essentials can be arranged before arrival. The boat ride to the island is short and scenic, making it enjoyable for most children. Life jackets are included for children from 2 years and older. For children under, it is recommended to bring life jackets or floatation devices for them.

Guests Prone to Motion Sickness

The waters between Belize City and St. George’s Caye are generally calm because the route stays protected inside the Belize Barrier Reef and the mangroves, which helps reduce open-sea waves and swells. Our experienced captains operate the boat smoothly and comfortably, adjusting speed when needed. Guests who are sensitive to motion are still encouraged to bring any preferred remedies for additional comfort.

Strollers & Walkers

Strollers and wheeled luggage travel easily through the airport, van transfers, and around the house itself. The dock access is short and manageable but the wooden planks do create some bumps. Boarding the boat requires only a small step with assistance from our crew if needed. Strollers are usable on the island itself, but there are no paved roads.

Luggage, timing, and flights

Luggage & Special Items

Standard checked luggage travels easily to Casa Al Mar, and our team handles loading and unloading between the dock and boat for your convenience. If your group is bringing oversized or specialty items simply let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Arrival Timing

We recommend planning flights that arrive by 3:00 PM to make the transfer to the island before dark. If your group is scheduled to arrive later in the day, please let us know so our team can coordinate the best arrival plan.
